Sen. Ann Rivers and Rep. Liz Pike want to hear from citizens on legislative-related issues of interest and concern to the 18th District. The two lawmakers have scheduled town hall meetings for Ridgefield and Battle Ground on Oct. 5. Another town hall meeting has been set for Nov. 9 in Camas.
“Representative Pike and I have always felt it’s important to know what’s in the hearts and minds of our constituents. These town hall meetings will prepare us to be more effective in the upcoming session,” said Rivers, R-La Center, who noted it is the first 18th District town hall meeting in Ridgefield in recent memory.
“The regular session of the Legislature convenes in January, so now is the time for constituents to bring us their thoughts and ideas about legislation. We are also interested in hearing where they stand on transportation and education funding, the Columbia River Crossing, jobs and the economy, expansion of port terminals for coal exports, and other emerging local issues,” said Pike, R-Camas. “Senator Rivers and I want to be accessible to the people we serve. These town hall meetings provide the ability to discuss important issues and listen to the people we represent.”
